Project
SSHub — Bowen Edu-Tech Platform
Bowen University's primary academic platform, built in-house to replace dependence on Upperlink EduChoice and make institutional changes faster to deliver.
Results and deliverables
- Replaced dependence on Upperlink EduChoice
- Kept core academic operations on an institution-owned platform
- Allowed required changes to be handled without waiting for a third-party delivery schedule
Overview
SSHub is Bowen University's primary academic management platform. It was developed in-house to replace dependence on Upperlink EduChoice and give the institution direct control over its academic workflows and delivery schedule.
Built as a team effort, I served as a full-stack engineer contributing to architecture decisions and substantially building the student module, staff module, results and transcripts, result reconciliation for students transferring between programmes, and student elections.
Modules
- Student Module — Student records and academic self-service workflows
- Staff Module — Staff-facing academic and administrative workflows
- Results & Transcripts — Result processing, publication, and transcript data
- Result Reconciliation — Historical result handling when students transfer between programmes
- Student Elections — Digital election workflows for student representation
Business Impact
By building and maintaining SSHub in-house, Bowen University reduced its dependence on Upperlink EduChoice and retained direct control over its academic platform. The institution could implement required changes on its own schedule instead of waiting for a third-party release cycle, while reducing external subscription expenditure.
